High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE)

At our school we are committed to supporting every student achieve their educational potential by providing talent development opportunities and differentiated learning experiences that are aimed at raising expectations and building student capabilities. We recognise and nurture student strengths and support learners with lessons and activities to help them grow and thrive.

Our High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE) program promotes engagement and challenges and supports every student, regardless of background, in every school across intellectual, creative, social-emotional and physical domains. Students have access to quality learning opportunities to encourage their potential and meet their needs and aspire their talents to develop to their optimal growth.

At our school, we recognise that some students learn more quickly or shine in areas such as creativity, leadership, or sport, and we nurture these strengths through tailored lessons and activities that help advanced learners grow and thrive.

Schools are responsible for providing appropriate classroom and school-based learning opportunities across the curriculum, ensuring that teaching and support staff engage in ongoing, evidence-informed, professional learning in the areas of giftedness and talent, and supporting families and caregivers in understanding the needs of HPGE students.

Our staff are trained to cater for the different needs of our students. Some students learn faster and more easily than others. These students may shine in creativity, thinking, leadership or sport.
