Subject selection
Subject choices to make
Subject selection is one of your first real chances to take control of your education. Up until now, most of your learning has been decided for you. Now you get to choose the subjects that match your interests, strengths, and goals.
This isn’t just about ticking boxes. It’s about using your years of school to build knowledge and skills that can open up your future options.
The subjects you choose now can shape what you do after school, whether that’s going to university, starting work, learning a trade, or figuring it out as you go. Even if you’re not sure what’s next, your choices can either help or limit your future opportunities.
If you’re not certain about your career path yet, that’s completely normal. The good news is that subject selection doesn’t have to lock you into one direction.
At our school, subject selection for Year 8 proceeding into Year 9 and Year 10 proceeding into Year 11 is held in July of each year.
View your Millennium Parent/Carer Portal calendar to view the date for the current year.
Information will be provided early in Term 3.

Learning
At our school, we teach the NSW curriculum and offer many different subjects to support each student’s learning. We know that development of skills in literacy and numeracy are the building blocks for learning and for everyday life. Our teachers use effective teaching strategies to help students achieve their goals.

Homework centre
Homework is often a revision of what is covered in class, review and practise tasks covered in class, summarise key ideas and do additional reading and research on topics.

Assessment Handbooks
At our school we provide detailed information to students about what we expect from them throughout the year and how their work will be assessed. Students have a number of formal assessments throughout their schooling.

BYOD refers to students bringing their personally owned device to school for the purpose of learning.
The School's BYOD program is a strategy to increase student learning through engagement. As the use of technology in classrooms increases, it is necessary for students to be allowed to maximise their learning potential through the use of electronic devices.
