MHS Self Select Class
Mitchell High School recognises, and caters for, the needs of all students who desire to make a commitment to, and assume responsibility for their own learning in order to achieve their best educational outcomes.
MHS recognises the needs of students who desire to make commitment to study and assume responsibility for their own learning in order to achieve their best educational outcomes.
One way that students can do this is by nominating themselves as members of MHS Self Select Class.
Self Select students will gain from both intrinsic rewards [the sense of achievement and fulfilment] and extrinsic rewards [higher marks and better assessment results].
MHS and its teachers will develop a positive learning environment by providing extension opportunities that strenghten the learning of Self Select students. This will involve participation in additional activities by the student.
The students nomination form will be accessed by the Principal, Deputy Principal and Year Adviser. If the student is successful, a student agreement will be posted home. If unsuccessful, the student will have an opportunity to re-apply the following year.
MHS Year 7, 8, 9 & 10 Self Select Class information will be announced during roll call early Term 4.
